Close the day so it actually ends

When a workday ends without closure, it doesn't really end — unfinished tasks and undecided questions keep running as background processes that follow you into the evening. A short daily review closes those loops on purpose: you record what moved, capture what's open, and decide tomorrow's single most important task.

This tool walks you through the five-step review and saves each day separately in your browser. The carry forward button moves today's open items into tomorrow's review, so nothing quietly falls through the cracks. Naming tomorrow's anchor tonight removes the hardest morning decision — what to start on — so you begin with intent instead of hesitation.

How to use it

  1. At the end of your workday, write what you actually moved forward today.
  2. Capture any open loops — unfinished tasks, things you're waiting on.
  3. Note anything you're blocked on and what would unblock it.
  4. Choose tomorrow's single anchor task — the one that would make tomorrow a win.
  5. Click Carry forward to push open items into tomorrow, then log off.

Frequently asked questions

What is a daily review?

A daily review is a short, structured reflection at the end of your workday. You look back at what you accomplished, capture anything unresolved, and decide your top priority for tomorrow. It usually takes five to ten minutes and its purpose is to close the day cleanly so open tasks stop occupying your attention after hours.

What does the carry-forward feature do?

Carry forward takes the open loops and blockers you recorded today and copies them into tomorrow's review, so unfinished work is never silently lost between days. It saves you from rewriting the same items and ensures anything still outstanding stays visible until it's genuinely handled.

Is my review data private?

Yes. Each day's review is stored only in your own browser using local storage, keyed by date. Nothing is uploaded or shared, and the tool works offline. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will remove saved entries.
